China's first reusable satellite Shijian-19 successfully returns to Earth
According to CCTV, China's first reusable satellite, the Shijian-19 satellite, successfully returned to Earth and touched down on the Dongfeng Landing Site today (Oct. 11).
The satellite carried a variety of payloads, including plant seeds, microorganism samples, space experimental instruments, technology demonstration devices, and social welfare payloads. All payloads were successfully recovered.
The Shijian-19 satellite is a key new technology experiment satellite developed during China's 14th Five-Year Plan period. It was launched on Sept. 27 from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.
The Shijian-19 satellite boasts features such as high microgravity precision, good timeliness, and strong downlink capability, making it an efficient platform for conducting space experiments in areas like microgravity science and space life science.
The Shijian-19 mission carried out space breeding, new technology validation, and space science experiments, advancing the development and application of new space technologies.
Additionally, it carried multiple international cooperation payloads, establishing a strong platform for promoting international space cooperation and holding significant importance in advancing space exploration.
