Olympic champion Qin Hai-yang accused of infidelity and soliciting prostitution
Paris Olympic medalist and Chinese swimmer Qin Hai-yang has been accused of cheating on his pregnant fiancée and soliciting prostitutes while serving in the military, even resorting to using intimate videos as threats to demand forgiveness this afternoon (Oct. 7).
Qin's fiancée posted a detailed exposé on Weibo alleging that Qin was unfaithful during her pregnancy, engaging in affairs with fans and synchronized swimmers, and engaging in prostitution while serving in the military. She also revealed that Qin's family did not dissuade him but instead asked her to be more understanding. After she suggested breaking up, Qin allegedly threatened her with "recorded intimate videos" to seek forgiveness.
Qin's fiancée claimed that she purchased every luxury item for him and further shared chat screenshots showing her funding and sending packaged gifts to Qin's fans, questioning what Qin cared about as he seemed only interested in checking if his fans were attractive.
Qin Hai-yang, born in 1999, joined the Chinese national swimming team in June 2014. At the recent Paris Olympics, he won silver in the mixed 4x100m medley relay and gold in the men's 4x100m medley relay.
His fiancée, a female entrepreneur, has previously sponsored awards for Qin. On Weibo, she expressed her desire for Qin to confront the issues and apologize. Qin's Weibo account has been set to a protective mode, preventing further interaction.
