Hezbollah presumed successor reportedly killed in attack
On Oct. 5 (local time), Saudi media outlet Al Hadath reported that senior Hezbollah leader Hashem Safieddine and his entourage were killed in a recent Israeli strike on southern Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
As of now, Hezbollah has not made any official statements regarding the incident.
On Oct. 4, CCTV reporters learned that Israel had carried out 11 consecutive strikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Beirut. According to the US news website Axios, citing Israeli officials, the target of these strikes was Hashem Safieddine, a senior Hezbollah leader considered a potential successor to Hassan Nasrallah, the Hezbollah leader who was killed in a previous Israeli airstrike.
