The mother, who was pushing a stroller, posted on the social media platform Threads, saying that a young man lined up in front of her while waiting for an elevator at the North Point MTR station. She questioned why young people would occupy public resources, stating, "I don't understand why young people need to take the elevator. I'm pushing a stroller, so I have no choice but to use it. Otherwise, I would never ride."

The photo she uploaded shows several people in the queue, with a young man in a green short-sleeved shirt standing directly in front of her, whom she accused of "occupying" the elevator.

However, her post quickly attracted criticism from netizens, many of whom argued that the mother was unfairly targeting the young man. Some pointed out that MTR elevators are designated for priority use by people with strollers or those with special needs but are not exclusive to them. One comment read, "Just because elevators prioritize people with strollers or other needs doesn't mean others can't use them." Another said, "There are two lines for the elevator, and you can just queue in the priority line if you need to."

Many commenters also defended the young man, criticizing the mother for her sense of entitlement. One remarked, "Why do you think the whole world revolves around you?" Another added, "Young people can't seem to do anything right these days."
