Today (Oct.1) marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Police Commissioner Raymond Siu Chak-yee stated that approximately 7,000 police officers have been deployed across various locations in Hong Kong. He hopes citizens can enjoy happiness and family joy on this significant day.

Immigration Department Director Erick Tsang Kwok-wai mentioned that today, there will be a peak in travelers heading south, with many mainland visitors expected to arrive in Hong Kong in the morning. The Immigration Department is fully prepared, with staff allocated at all ports to ensure smooth border crossings, allowing travelers to pass through easily. He anticipates that the Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau checkpoints will be the busiest, with many travelers also arriving via the West Kowloon port.

Regarding the return peak, Erick Tsang stated that it will depend on the situation, as there are various types of travelers. Some will return on the same day, while others may have layovers in Hong Kong, and some travelers will stay until the 7th of this month before returning.
