Watch This | Lament for Gaza: On the edge of war and hope
In the Gaza Strip, the specter of war once again casts its dark pall over the land.
On August 10, 2024, Israel launched a new wave of attacks on a school in Gaza, resulting in nearly a hundred deaths.
This marks the 21st assault on educational institutions in Gaza within just over a month, reflecting a blatant disregard for the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.
As of September 20, at least 41,272 lives have been lost in this conflict, including 11,355 innocent children.
For nearly a year, this land has been engulfed by unrelenting war, with approximately 41,100 Palestinians dead—most of them women and children—and nearly 948,800 injured.
The pain inflicted by war is immeasurable, extending beyond physical wounds to deep psychological scars. Each explosion, each assault, serves as a reminder of how precious peace truly is. We long for the arrival of love and peace so that everyone in this land can enjoy the rights of safety, dignity, and happiness.
Let us reflect deeply on the suffering that war brings and commit ourselves to building a world where conflict no longer holds sway.
