The Education Bureau (EDB) has approved tuition fee increases for 53 direct subsidy schools, 73 private schools, and 64 international schools.

It stated that except for one international school whose application was not approved, all other applications were granted.

The average increases for direct subsidy schools, private schools, and international schools are 4.76%, 5.36%, and 4.53%, respectively. Among these, six direct subsidy schools have increases exceeding 5.6%, and one private elementary school has an increase of over 10%.

Regarding kindergartens, the EDB has completed the approval of tuition fee applications for 705 kindergartens. About 90% of the half-day kindergartens will waive tuition fees in the new school year. For full-day and long full-day programs, the median tuition fee per term for the new school year is approximately HK$998, an increase of about HK$58 from last year, maintaining overall low tuition fee levels.
