HK gears up for spectacular 75th National Day celebration
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government and various sectors of society will organize over 400 celebratory events this year.
The Travel Industry anticipates that during the National Day 'Golden Week', mainland visitors to Hong Kong will reach between 1.15 million and 1.2 million, marking a 20% increase year-on-year. During this period, approximately 850 tour groups from the mainland are expected to visit Hong Kong, representing nearly a 10% increase from last year, with most groups staying overnight.
This National Day, a fireworks display will light up the Victoria Harbour night sky at 9 PM on October 1, accompanied by 600 drones that will create patterns of a "panda" and the number "75" in the sky. Additionally, around 3,000 restaurants across the city will offer dining promotions on National Day, and over 10,000 public markets and street vendors will provide shopping discounts.
