Swiss model brutally murdered by her husband: Body dismembered and pureed in hand blender
Earlier this year, Switzerland witnessed a gruesome domestic violence case in which 38-year-old model Kristina Joksimovic was strangled, dismembered and "pureed" by her husband.
The 41-year-old husband, after being arrested, admitted to the crime but claimed he acted in self-defense. A federal court in Lausanne recently denied his request for release.
According to local media reports, Kristina and her husband had two children together. On Feb. 13, Kristina's dismembered body was discovered at their home in the town of Benningen.
Authorities believe parts of her body were dismembered in the laundry room with a jigsaw, knife, and garden shears, and were then chopped up with a hand blender, 'pureed' and dissolved in a chemical solution
Her husband, Thomas, was arrested the day after the discovery and confessed to killing her. However, he argued that he acted in self-defense after Kristina allegedly attacked him with a knife.
Friends of Kristina told the police that the couple had been having marital problems for some time and had recently been involved in a physical altercation that led to a police intervention.
Investigators said Thomas showed a "conspicuously high level of criminal energy" in their assessment, and emphasized his lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness in trying to cover up the crime.
They also revealed that Thomas had previously strangled his wife to the point of near suffocation and had once slammed her head against a wall.
