China Railway expects to send 16.8 mn passengers on first day of Mid-Autumn Festival
China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. has announced that it expects to serve 16.8 million passengers on the first day of the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, with plans to operate an additional 896 trains.
The head of the Passenger Transport Department at China Railway Group noted that this year's Mid-Autumn holiday sees a mix of tourist travel, family visits, and student movements. From Sept. 14 to Sept. 18, the railway will operate a peak schedule, coordinating high-speed and conventional rail resources. An average of over 11,100 passenger trains per day are planned, an increase of more than 590 trains compared to regular days.
Local railway departments have optimized train operation plans, strengthened coordination between track and local services, and implemented measures to benefit and facilitate passengers to enhance the travel experience.
