Over 340,000 HK residents head north on Saturday
Hong Kong residents traveling north saw an increase yesterday (Sept. 14). 340,000 residents headed north, marking a 10% rise from the previous week, according to the Immigration Department.
Data from the Immigration Department highlighted that 113,620 residents exited through Lo Wu, 88,961 through Lok Ma Chau Spur Line, 53,188 through Shenzhen Bay, and 41,937 through Heung Yuen Wai.
On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which runs from Sept. 15 to 17, mainland China began its three-day break. Despite being just before the holiday, 78,555 mainland visitors came south to Hong Kong yesterday (Sept. 14), a 3.7% increase from 75,739 the previous Saturday (Sept. 8).
