HKO to issue No. 3 Strong Wind Signal at 12:40
Over the past few hours, Typhoon Yagi has continued to move on a more westerly path, gradually distancing itself from Hong Kong, so it is expected that local wind strength will gradually weaken. The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has announced that the No. 3 Strong Wind Signal will be issued at 12:40 PM today (Sept. 6).
The Observatory indicated that the rainbands associated with Yagi will still affect the Pearl River Estuary today, bringing strong winds and heavy rain to Hong Kong, with occasional severe gusts. The sea conditions will feature large waves and surges, and the public is advised to stay away from the shoreline and cease all water activities.
