Typhoon Yagi | Transport Department to closely monitor traffic situation
Super Typhoon Capricorn is approaching Hong Kong and the Observatory will issue No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal at 6.20 pm this evening (Sept. 5). In a social media post today, the Transport Department (TD) said it was ready to co-ordinate traffic and transport services during typhoons.
The Emergency Transport Coordination Centre (ETCC) will closely monitor the traffic situation on major roads such as trunk roads, tunnels and bridges, and communicate closely with government departments and public transport operators to strengthen emergency handling and make adjustments to public transport services to meet passenger demand, the TD said.
The Department appeals to the public to pay attention to the traffic news on radio, television, TD's website and HKeMobility.
