According to the present forecast, Tropical Cyclone Yagi will still maintain a distance of over 600 kilometers from Hong Kong and will not bring direct impacts to Hong Kong during the day today (Sept. 3) yet.

The Observatory will issue the Standby Signal, No. 1, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

With Yagi edging closer to the coast of southern China gradually, winds will strengthen over the region later this week. The chance for issuing the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3, is relatively high.

Under the influence of Yagi, the weather over the coast of Guangdong will deteriorate in the latter part of this week. There will be heavy squally showers. Seas will be rough with swells.

Members of the public should take note of the latest weather forecast.
