60 representatives of HK's social welfare organizations to visit Shenzhen from Sept. 1 to 10
60 representatives of Hong Kong's social welfare organizations will visit Shenzhen from Sept. 1 to 10 to exchange views with the Mainland's charity sector on the application of Internet and digital tools in charity.
Chris Sun Yuk-han, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, attended the kick-off ceremony of the event today (Aug. 30), pointing out that Hong Kong emphasizes the application of technology in charity.
He further explained that the use of technology and data in the Mainland is more advanced than that in Hong Kong, while the work of Hong Kong's welfare organizations is more detailed and systematic.
He believed that a combination of the two could bring the greatest benefits, hoping that the exchange will bring new ideas to the welfare sector.
