At 10:55 a.m. today (Aug. 28), a 66-year-old man was driving a minibus along Lung Poon Street in the direction of a transport interchange when he came to a pedestrian crossing and hit a 47-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman was trapped underneath the minibus and was later rescued. She sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the United Christian Hospital (UCH) in an unconscious state, where she was confirmed dead at 12:55 pm.
The minibus driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is being held for investigation.
