Hong Kong Immigration Department has arrested one man and two women who are suspected of being illegal workers. They entered Hong Kong as mainland tourists to provide photography services.
According to the Immigration Department, they noticed individuals advertising affordable wedding and street photography services on social media, with fees ranging from HK$1,000 to HK$1,500 per session. The department identified their targets and conducted undercover operations over the past two days, placing deposits to invite the photographers to Hong Kong. Upon their arrival, the three mainland photographers were arrested.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the three arrested individuals were not employed by any company, and the cases are independent of each other. The Immigration Department reminds the public that knowingly hiring illegal workers may result in criminal liability.
