According to CCTV News, the Macao Government Tourist Office (MGTO) released news on Aug. 8 that the tourist attractions and venues in various districts of Macao have been enjoying a robust flow of visitors since the beginning of the summer vacation, the peak season of the year.
Provisional figures suggest that the number of visitor arrivals amounted to 843,000 in the first seven days of August (Aug.1-7), with a daily average of about 120,000, an increase of 14.3% over the same period last year. Among them, about 152,000 were recorded on Aug. 3, which is up to now the highest number of visitor arrivals on a single day during the summer vacation this year.
According to MGTO, Macao's overall visitor arrivals were satisfactory in July during the summer vacation. Provisional figures suggest that the number of visitor arrivals totaled 3,028,000 from July 1 to 31, with a daily average of nearly 98,000, an increase of 9.7% over the same period last year. In addition, visitor arrivals from January to July this year reached 19.748 million, an increase of 37.1% compared to the same period in 2023.
