'Thought I have no need for school if I choose diving': Gold medalist Quan Hongchan
Chinese divers Chen Yuxi and Quan Hongchan on Wednesday (July 31, Hong Kong time) won the gold medal in the women's synchronized 10m platform event at the Paris Olympics. Chen and Quan dominated the final to claim victory with 359.10 points.
Quan Hongchan was born in 2007 and Chen Yoxi was born in 2005, both youngsters are participating in their second Olympic Games.
After winning the gold medal, Chen hugged Quan as she cried. Quan Hongchan hugged Chen's neck with one hand, and with one hand facing the camera, she put her thumb and forefinger together and made a gesture of "nailed it"!
On the day of the final, the Winter Olympic champion Eileen Feng Gu also came to the scene to watch the game, and followed the reporter to the press conference. Seeing the "idol", Quan confessed at the conference site, "I like her, she is excellent and very beautiful!"

In a previous interview, Quan said that she thought she didn't have to go to school before she started diving.
In fact, the cuteness of Quan Hongchan is not only liked by Eileen Feng Gu, but also by reporters, and even foreign athletes. British athlete Andrea Spendolini Sirieix, who got third place in this game, used Chinese to say "bosom friend" and 'sister" to describe Quan, "We are bosom friends, she is my sister, we have WeChat, we will greet each other on it and pass the photos. I prefer her very much!"
