Olympics | National team elite athletes expected to visit HK at end of this month
The Paris Olympics will conclude on August 11, and as of this morning (August 5), the national team has achieved an impressive tally of 19 gold, 15 silver, and 11 bronze medals.
Reports indicate that, as in previous Olympic Games, national team athletes are expected to visit Hong Kong after their triumphant return, tentatively scheduled for the end of this month. HK citizens will have the opportunity to see the medal-winning athletes up close.
The tradition of national team athletes visiting HK began after the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
Since then, the national team has consistently sent many medal-winning athletes to HK for close interaction with the public after every Olympic Games. This tradition has never been interrupted.
According to recent practices, the national team athletes will spend three days in HK and also take time to continue their exchange activities in Macao.
After the last Tokyo Olympics, a delegation of elite athletes visited HK for three days, including 29 athletes and three coaches, featuring stars like Su Bingtian and table tennis champion Ma Long.
