HB: HK's potential new housing supply nears 110,000 units in next 3 to 4 years
The Housing Bureau has announced that over the next three to four years, there will be approximately 109,000 potential new private residential units available. This represents a decline from the record high, 3,000 fewer than the figure announced at the end of March, and 4,000 more on a year-on-year basis.
Among them, there were 19,000 unsold units, down 2,000 quarter-on-quarter, and 77,000 pre-sale flats. The number of flats with granted land ready for construction was 13,000, down 6,000 year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter.
The data also shows that in the second quarter, 9,900 private residential units commenced construction, an increase of 130% quarter-on-quarter and 65% year-on-year.
In the same period, 2,100 private residential units were completed, marking a 58% decrease quarter-on-quarter but an increase of over 160% year-on-year.
