On Tuesday night (July 9), a voltage dip incident occurred in the Shek Kip Mei area of Sham Shui Po, marking the eighth power failure by China Light & Power Company Syndicate (CLP) this year. CLP confirmed that around 11 pm last night, an 11,000-volt power supply system in Sham Shui Po recorded a voltage dip.

During this period, some users might have experienced dimming or flickering lights, and some equipment might have tripped due to the activation of protective devices. CLP apologized for the inconvenience caused to customers and stated that they will investigate the cause of the incident.

Late last night, a netizen claiming to live in Shek Kip Mei posted online that around 11:08 PM, the power supply in their apartment unit was troubled which sparked significant responses from other netizens. They reported similar situations in Nam Cheong Estate, Pak Tin Estate, and Shek Kip Mei Estate. Some mentioned that their entire house experienced a power outage for a few seconds, and some were frightened, worrying about potential damage to their electrical appliances.
