Alice Mak, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, emphasized the current government's commitment to ethnic minority communities during a media briefing today (July 9) after attending the opening ceremony of an office co-organized by ethnic minority district council member Aruna Gurung and other members.

Mak highlighted that the Chief Executive's 2023 Policy Address announced the establishment of two additional support service centers for ethnic minorities in two districts to aid their integration into the community.

Mak announced that each existing support service center will set up an Ethnic Minority Care Team, with preparations underway. These teams are expected to be established and operational this month to provide enhanced services to ethnic minority residents, particularly in disseminating community information.

Mak expressed her hope to strengthen efforts across various areas to provide more support to ethnic minority residents within the community and calls for collective efforts to achieve this goal.
