Dazzling drone light show and free ice cream to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival in HK

Today, June 10th, marks the annual Dragon Boat Festival in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Tourism Board will be hosting a series of exciting events along both sides of the Victoria Harbour this month. At 8 pm tonight, the government will once again bring a drone performance with a Dragon Boat Festival theme to the night sky over the harbour.

This evening, 1,000 drones will take to the skies above the Victoria Harbour off the Wan Chai waterfront, displaying dynamic patterns including adorable cartoon zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), dragon boat races, and soaring dragons, all to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival with the public.

On the first day of the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races (June 15) at 8 pm, there will also be a spectacular fireworks display over the harbour, featuring smiley faces and the "HK" letters to enhance the festive atmosphere and enrich the visitor experience.

The best viewing locations for both performances are the WanChai HarbourChill waterfront leisure area or the Water Sports and Recreation Precinct. On the afternoons of the performance days from 6 pm to 8 pm, the Hong Kong Tourism Board will also be handing out free ice cream at the Wan Chai Pier. Several ice cream trucks will be stationed there on June 10th and June 15th from 6 pm to 8 pm, offering one free ice cream per person until supplies last.
