Talent pool acts as key factor of education development in HK: Christine Choi

After returning to Hong Kong on May 13, Choi said that in increasing the cultivation and introduction of talent, Hong Kong is in the education development of the "golden decade", whether Hong Kong's efforts to fight for the economy and seek to develop or the implementation of the "eight centers" objectives in the 14th Five-Year Plan are inseparable from the talents. Secretary for Education Christine Choi led a delegation consisting of 22 heads of tertiary education institutions in Hong Kong and the heads of major advisory bodies in the field of tertiary education to Beijing from May 8 to 10, during which she was also met by Xia Baolong, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the State Council's Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office.

"Without talents, many plans could not be realized and high-quality development could not be achieved... As a bridge and window to the country, Hong Kong will vigorously promote the construction of an international tertiary education hub to strengthen the support for talents and contribute to the development of Hong Kong and the country," she noted.
