Hong Kong is hosting a FIBA 3x3 Olympic qualifying tournament for the first time ever from Friday to Sunday (April 12 to 14) at Victoria Park.

The hosting rights for the first leg of the tournament mark a seminal moment in the advancement of Hong Kong's 3×3 basketball. This tournament will welcome top-tier 3×3 basketball teams from across the globe to compete on Hong Kong soil. Moreover, it presents a historic opportunity for the Hong Kong, China men's and women's 3×3 basketball teams to vie for Olympic qualifications in front of their home crowd, an occasion of utmost significance.

As a side event of FIBA 3x3 World Tour - Hong Kong Masters 2023, which is the highest level of the FIBA (International Basketball Federation) 3x3 basketball tournament, "3x3 VILLAGE" featured an urban sports zone, over a hundred food and beverage stalls and internationally renowned DJs, bringing Hong Kong's local culture to the international arena.

The Major Sports Events Committee has awarded "M" Mark status to the FIBA 3x3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament 1, which will be staged in Hong Kong for the first time from April 12 to 14 at Victoria Park.

The event is believed to promote sports development and showcase Hong Kong's ability to host world-class sports events and add colour and vibrancy to the city, bring in more visitors from abroad and enhance Hong Kong's position as a centre for major international sports events.
