'Art@Harbour 2024' lights up enchanting cityscape of Victoria harbourfront

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will present a large-scale outdoor art project "Art@Harbour 2024" on both sides of Victoria Harbour between March 25 and June 2. The project aims to bring the public and tourists a new inspirational and sensory experience at the Victoria harbourfront through outdoor art installations and digital art façades by integrating art, science and technology.

The opening ceremony of the "Art@Harbour2024" was held at Tamar Park on March 24. Officiating at the ceremony, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Chan Kwok-ki, said that "Art@Harbour", first launched in 2022 as an innovative integration of art, science and technology, was so well received in Hong Kong as well as all over the world that it was brought back this year with more partners and international artists involved.

West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA or the Authority) today hosted a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony to celebrate the establishment of impactful and long-term partnerships with 21 leading arts and cultural institutions from across the globe.

This significant milestone underscores WKCDA's vision to support Hong Kong's development into an international arts and cultural hub and its commitment to promoting East-meets-West international cultural exchange.

The events raised the curtain of the Hong Kong International Cultural Summit (HKICS or the Summit) 2024 hosted by the Authority from 24 to 26 March 2024.

And the Summit also attracted more than 420,000 online viewers from around the world.

Elon Musk tops Hurun Global Rich List again

Hurun Research Institute released the "Hurun Global Rich List 2024".

Among the global billionaires, Tesla CEO Elon Musk re-emerged as the richest man with RMB1.67 trillion of wealth, up 47%. Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos rose to second place with RMB1.33 trillion of wealth, up 57%. LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault's wealth shrank by 13%, falling to third place with a wealth of RMB1.26 trillion. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg came in fourth.

In China, NONGFU SPRING Chairman Zhong Shanshan's fortune faded 9% to RMB450 billion, making him China's richest man for the fourth consecutive time and the 21st richest man in the world.

New Octopus card offering public transport access in 336 Chinese mainland cities

Octopus Cards announced the "Octopus - China T-Union Card", enabling cardholders to take public transport in more than 336 cities across the country covered by the China T-Union transport network.

The funds in the new card will be automatically converted to yuan at prevailing exchange rates for payments in the mainland. It can also function as a regular Octopus card when used locally.

The Octopus' China T-Union cards are sold at over 7,000 Circle K convenience stores across the city as well as at customer service centers at seven MTR stations, namely Hung Hom, Lok Ma Chau, Sheung Shui, Fanling, Tsuen Wan, Kowloon Tong and Admiralty.

They are priced at HK$88 (US$11.3) without deposit, each card can hold up to HK$3,000 in stored value. Card balances can also be managed via the Octopus mobile app.

'Voyage with Van Gogh' of 'Art@Harbour 2024' launches

The large-scale outdoor art project "Art@Harbour 2024", presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) on both sides of Victoria Harbour, aims to bring the public and tourists a new inspirational and sensory experience at the Victoria harbourfront through outdoor art installations and digital art façades by integrating art, science and technology.

"Voyage with Van Gogh" will be staged at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza from March 28 until May 31, showcasing a digital artwork, "Cycles", created by Spanish new digital art studio VISURA Studio and artist Vritis, and paired with the original musical composition "Rain or Shine" composed by Leon Ko, produced by Chiu Tsang-hei and performed by Niu Niu and Wang Liang.
