Hurun Research Institute released the "Hurun Global Rich List 2024".

Among the global billionaires, Tesla CEO Elon Musk re-emerged as the richest man with RMB1.67 trillion of wealth, up 47%. Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos rose to second place with RMB1.33 trillion of wealth, up 57%. LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault's wealth shrank by 13%, falling to third place with a wealth of RMB1.26 trillion. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg came in fourth.

In China, NONGFU SPRING Chairman Zhong Shanshan's fortune faded 9% to RMB450 billion, making him China's richest man for the fourth consecutive time and the 21st richest man in the world. Pinduoduo (PDD.US) Founder and Chairman Colin Huang, whose fortune amplified 71% to RMB38.5 million, ranked second.

TENCENT Chairman Pony Ma's fortune dropped 10% to RMB25 million, ranking third. In fourth and fifth places were Zhang Yiming, Founder of ByteDance, and Ding Lei, CEO of NTES-S. In sixth place was Li Ka-shing and Li Tzar Kuoi of CK ASSET. Eighth place went to Lee Shau Kee, Founder of HENDERSON LAND. The 10th place went to the Li Shufu Family of GEELY AUTO.

According to Hurun, the structure of wealth creation in China continued to alter dramatically. In the last year, more than 200 billion-USD entrepreneurs in China dropped off the list, while there were more than 50 new faces, with the total falling 150.

Some of the Chinese entrepreneurs who saw their fortunes grow faster in the last two years included PDD's Colin Huang. Those who suffered more fortunes slump were Wanda's Wang Jianlin and COUNTRY GARDEN's Yang Huiyan.
