"A museum is something that you cannot completely create... it must come naturally from history." Laurent Salomé, Director of the National Museum of the Palaces of Versailles and Trianon, France, shared his valuable thoughts today (March 26).
Given his background as an art historian, Salomé shared his views on how museum exhibitions facilitate mutual understanding, stating, "I think they facilitate feelings. It remains difficult to understand a very different culture but when you like it, it's a first step."

Salomé comments on the growing interest in the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in museums, clarifying, "Personally, I am a very backward person." He sees value in authenticity and expresses his wishes for the future, stating, "I hope AI will be serving the art and not replacing it."
Salomé expressed that he is impressed by the dynamics of Hong Kong, stating that "the energy, openness, and enthusiasm are rare and unique."
The Palace of Versailles, whose origins date back to the seventeenth century, was successively a hunting lodge, a seat of power, and, from the nineteenth century, a museum. With the gardens and the Palaces of Trianon, the park of the Château de Versailles spreads over 800 hectares.
