Ministry of Foreign Affairs: China's reunification inevitable
Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin presided over a regular press conference today (Dec. 22), during which a journalist raised a question regarding the Taiwan issue.
Wang Wenbin stated that during the meeting between President Xi Jinping and US President Biden in San Francisco in November this year, President Xi elaborated on China's principles and stance on the Taiwan issue.
"The relevant press release was promptly issued at that time, and everyone can refer to it. President Xi Jinping emphasized that the Taiwan issue is always the most important and sensitive issue in China-US relations. China attaches importance to the positive statements made by the US during the 2022 G20 Bali summit. The US should translate its declaration of not supporting 'Taiwan independence' into concrete actions, cease military support to Taiwan, and support China's peaceful reunification," Wang said.
Wang Wenbin pointed out that resolving the Taiwan issue and achieving complete national reunification is the common aspiration of all Chinese people. "Our position on advancing the great cause of national reunification remains consistent, unshakable, and unbreakable. China will ultimately achieve reunification," he added.
