BRI & HK | PolyU students light up the nights in Rwandan village
After around six pm, the sun goes down and night falls upon a small village in Rwanda, the African country known as the "land of a thousand hills". For the villagers here, the night was always dominated by darkness, until a group of teachers and students from Hong Kong arrived with hundreds of solar panels. They lit up the night of the little village, brightening the lives of the locals and the future of countless children.
This summer, DotDotNews reporters followed the teachers and students of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to Rwanda in Africa, and witnessed how they used their own learning to overcome various challenges and bring electricity to 400 poor families in the area.
