Chen Suijin wins bronze in Taijijian Wushu, 2nd medal for HK in Asian Games

Hong Kong athlete Chen Suijin won bronze on Sunday at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou in the women's Taijijian Wushu event.

Chen, who won the SAR's second medal of the day at the Asian Games, scored a total of 19.476, narrowly beating the Philippines' Agatha Chrystenzen Wong who had 19.456.

China's Tong Xin took gold with a score of 19.696, while Lachkar Basma from Brunei won silver with 19.502.

Another representative of the Hong Kong team, Juanita Mok, finished in 6th place.

Mok said that although there were some flaws in her performance, she was satisfied with her performance, adding that she was able to showcase her own Taiji style.

The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Kevin Yeung, congratulated Chen, "We are proud of Chen, who earned the well-deserved medal with excellent skills. I take the opportunity to express my best wishes to Hong Kong athletes, hoping that they will continue to showcase their best performance in the Hangzhou Asian Games."
