The 2023 Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon kicked off early this morning (January 12). With 37,000 entries, this is the biggest sports event in Hong Kong since the resumption of the epidemic. The Chief Executive, John Lee, officiated at the event. The 67-year-old actor Chow Yun-fat, who has always been a hiker and runner, took part in the race for the first time and was gracious enough to be interviewed by the media and pose for photos with the public.
Lee said Hong Kong has recovered and will host some sports and international events this year. He and his team will continue to lead Hong Kong to move forward and promote social and economic activities to make Hong Kong even better than before.
