Over 70,000 people visit Macao on second day of Chinese New Year

On the second day of the Chinese New Year (Jan. 23), Macao's visitor arrivals exceeded 70,000, adding another 20,000 to the 50,000 recorded on the first day.

According to the data released by the Public Security Police Force, there were 71,672 arrivals at Macao ports on the second day of the Chinese New Year, including 24,002 arrivals at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, 5,606 arrivals at the Taipa Ferry Terminal and 4,712 arrivals at the HK Macau Ferry Terminal. This means that the number of HK passengers may have exceeded 30,000.

The third day of the Chinese New Year is the peak day for visitors to Macao every year. Experts expect that the number of arrivals will increase significantly today (Jan. 24).
