Coronavirus | HK logs 5,990 new virus cases, 17 deaths

Hong Kong on Thursday (Sept. 22) reported 5,990 new COVID-19 infections, of which 163 were imported cases.

Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, Dr. Albert Au Ka-wing of the Center for Health Protection said that the 5,827 local infections included 1,466 PCR test-confirmed cases and 4,361 self-declared positive cases.

Meanwhile, 17 more COVID-related deaths have been reported for the past day, bringing the death toll in the fifth wave of infections to 9,721.
