EyE on U | Chan Chak-ming: Judicial independence, rule of law better protected under NSL

After a couple of months, EyE On U has returned with a unique blend of content. In this first episode in the Year of Tiger, we invite Chan Chak-ming, Head of the Centre for the Rule of Law, Hong Kong Policy Research Institute, to share with us his understanding of the concept and practice of the rule of law in HK.

The show is co-hosted by Eunice Yung and Edward Leung, both of whom are members of HK's Seventh-term Legislative Council. In each episode, politicians, business leaders, and professionals from different sectors will be invited to share with us their insights on popular topics related to HK.

Since the enactment of the National Security Law (NSL) in the city, there has been a lot of slandering from certain Western forces. How can we counter these ill-intentioned narratives and defend the rule of law in HK? How has rule of law become the cornerstone of HK's success? What is the difference between the HK NSL and the local legislation on Article 23 of the Basic Law? How can we better synergize the legal systems in mainland China and HK? Watch the video now for Chan's insights, and always stay tuned for more to come!
