Former South Korean president Chun Doo-hwan dies at 90
Former South Korean president Chun Doo-hwan has died aged 90, Yonhap reported on Tuesday (Nov. 23).
Chun seized power via a military coup in 1979, became president the next year and remained in office until 1988. Chun was sentenced by the Supreme Court to life imprisonment in April 1997 before being pardoned in late 1997.
