Exclusive | Navina Heyden: Victory always on the side of the righteous

For a long period of time, a German girl Navina Heyden has been speaking out on Twitter and other social media platforms, refuting all the attacks on China in the Western media and showing the real situations in China to overseas netizens. As a result, she was targeted by the German media, Die Welt, which misrepresented her as a dangerous person who was helping the Chinese government with "political propaganda" and "infiltrating and influencing" Germany.

The unscrupulous media shamelessly published the name and address of Navina without her permission. In addition, the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), a British think tank that has been working with Die Welt on this issue for a long time, published a direct article smearing her. Navina said that the media began to quote stories that "ruined" her life and negatively impacted her future job search and reputation.

When DotDotNews interviewed Navina in July, she said she had not yet found a lawyer willing to represent her in a lawsuit against Axel Springer. However, it is heartening to note that, in this interview, Navina says she has taken Axel Springer to court and won a preliminary victory. The court asked Axel Springer and its journalists to revise the article that slandered her and banned further reports of a similarly slanderous nature.

Navina found that many people around her, including those who are on the Internet, had similar experiences as her. They are all suffering from cyberbullying. She said she wanted to tell people through this video that if the media slander them, they can fight back and protect themselves through legal channels if they are on the right side.

Navina says she is not afraid of cyberbullying and will continue to share her experiences and views on Twitter while constantly refuting false reports about China from the Western media. She also persuaded HK people to get out of the city to see the real world, especially mainland China.
