The 2021 Election Committee Subsector Ordinary Elections (ECSSOEs) in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) started on Sunday (Sept. 19) morning.
Clarence Leung Wang-ching, member of the newly elected fifth sector of the Election Committee and vice chairman of All-China Youth Federation, said that the media paid a lot of attention to this election. Members of the public should pay attention to the outcome of this election as well. This is the first election after the improved electoral system. The Election Committee is responsible for nominating Chief Executive candidates, electing the CE, electing 40 members of the Legislative Council and nominating LegCo candidates. Leung emphasized, "This is a very important election."
