EyE on U | Alice Mak: Time for govt to review ordinances to increase land supply

DotDotNews gladly presents a new program named "EyE on U," co-hosted by Eunice Yung, Legislative Council member, and Edward Leung, member of Chinese Association of HK & Macao Studies. In each episode, politicians, business leaders, and professionals from different sectors will be invited to share with us their insights on popular topics related to HK.

In this episode of EyE on U, we invite Hong Kong lawmaker Alice Mak Mei-kuen from the Federation of Trade Unions, to talk about her Private Member's Bill to amend the Protection of the Harbour Ordinance.

Mak introduced a bill in May this year to regulate the overcharging of water bills by owners of sub-divided units, which was passed by the LegCo. This time, what difficulties does she encounter? Why and how should the ordinance be amended so as to further develop the harbourfront? Apart from sea reclamation, what should the government do to increase land supply? Watch the video now to find the answers.
