Coronavirus | Chinese mainland reports 12 new cases, all from overseas
The Chinese mainland recorded 12 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday (Feb. 23), all from overseas, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Wednesday (Feb. 24).
No new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported, the NHC said.
Nine new asymptomatic cases were also recorded on Tuesday, and a total of 291 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland has reached 89,864, and the death toll remains 4,636.
The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:
Hong Kong: 10,896 (10,427 recoveries, 197 deaths)
Macao: 48 (47 recoveries)
Taiwan: 942 (893 recoveries, 9 deaths)
