Watch This | E-sports professional: Hu Yi realizes his basketball dream virtually
"I always joke to my friends that if I were 1.9 meters tall, I would definitely win over others," said Hu Yi, who used to be engaged in voiceover work and loves basketball and Yao Ming. In NBA 2K games, he appears as a tall muscle man. Playing e-sports is not only a way to bring his basketball dream into reality, but also to open up a whole new life for him.
Maybe it was this unconquerable spirit or the realization that the career of e-sports was not as easy as one might think, since then, Hu began to re-examine his passion for e-sports and what it meant to him. So he rearranged his life, adjusted his work rhythm, and planned his training time for himself.
In the 2019 NBA 2K20 APEC tournament, Hu Yi successfully won the NBA 2K20 Asian championship and entered the draft pool, and was eventually selected by Gen. G Tiger, becoming the first Chinese player to be selected in 2K League history.
