Hong Kong's oldest musical instrument store, Tsang Fook Piano Co. Ltd, which has been operating in HK for more than a century, announced its "glorious termination".

"Tsang Fook Piano Co. Ltd was founded in 1916, and has been operating in HK for more than a century, witnessing the city's ups and downs. Now it's time to say goodbye," the store wrote in its announcement.

Tsang Fook is the oldest instrument store in Hong Kong, with its earliest headquarters in Wanchai and a factory in North Point. The "Kam Hong Street" (literally meaning musical-instrument-store street) in North Point was named because of the company.

On its website, the company thanked its customers for their kind support and patronage, while some netizens expressed their sadness at its closure.

The founder of Tsang Fook Piano Co. Ltd, Mr. Tsang Fook, originally studied tuning at Robinson Piano Company and then went on to study piano manufacturing. Afterwards, he founded the Tsang Fook Piano Company in 1916 in Morrison Hill Road, Wanchai, which specialized in piano tuning and repair at the beginning.

Later on, the company gradually developed a musical instrument retail and wholesale business, selling not only pianos, but also other western musical instruments and audio equipment.

According to its official website, Tsang Fook Music has launched a pre-closing sale at "clearance prices".
