Hotel reservation required for Shenzhen-bound travelers from HK
The Shenzhen Municipal Government announced Tuesday (Dec. 29) that, with effect from next Tuesday (Jan. 5), people entering Shenzhen from Hong Kong via the Shenzhen Bay Port are required to present a hotel reservation confirmation for the 14-day quarantine, in addition to valid proof of a negative COVID-19 test result issued within 24 hours.
An HK government spokesman said that citizens who intend to travel from HK to Shenzhen via the Shenzhen Bay Port must make a hotel reservation in advance through the quarantine hotel online reservation system for inbound passengers at https://hk.sz.gov.cn:8118/userPage/login (Chinese only). The reservation system has opened today (Dec. 30), and relevant travelers can make reservations for the following week.
According to the authorities, if such Shenzhen-bound travelers fail to enter the city and have to return to HK, they may be subject to compulsory quarantine for 14 days. Persons concerned are urged to pay particular attention.
