To celebrate the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on July 1, the government and various sectors of the community will roll out a series of special offers and activities, covering public transport, culture, arts and leisure, dining, and shopping. The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority announced that the thematic exhibitions at the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the exhibitions at M+ will open to the public for free on Wednesday, July 1.
Hong Kong Palace Museum
Visitors planning to visit the Hong Kong Palace Museum for free on that day must pre-register for free standard tickets (Galleries 1 to 7). From 10:00 am tomorrow (June 12), visitors can book free standard tickets for July 1 through the museum's website, the West Kowloon Cultural District website or mobile app, or the Cityline ticketing platform. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Visitors wishing to view the special exhibition "TreasuresofGlobal JewelleryfromThe Metropolitan MuseumofArt: The Body Transformed" (Gallery 8) or the "Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums" (Gallery 9) can purchase special exhibition tickets online or on-site. Visitors with special exhibition tickets can also view the relevant special exhibitions and the thematic exhibitions.
M+
Visitors planning to visit designated exhibitions at M+ for free on that day do not need to book in advance. Visitors wishing to enter M+ for free should enter the museum through the Art Plaza entrance, as some other entrances will be closed on that day. To ensure a quality visitor experience, M+ will limit the number of people entering the museum based on conditions, and visitors may need to queue as directed by on-site staff. The museum will be open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on that day.
Visitors wishing to view the new special exhibition "," which opens on June 27, can purchase same-day tickets on-site or buy tickets online. Ticket holders will have priority access to the exhibitions "Ryuichi Sakamoto | seeing sound, hearing time" and "Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now," as well as to the M+ Lounge on the 11th floor, which is normally reserved for M+ Members and Patrons.
