At the 2026 ITTF Men's & Women's World Cup in Macao on April 5, Chinese paddler Sun Yingsha defeated teammate Wang Manyu 4–1 in the women's singles final, securing an unprecedented third consecutive title at the tournament and becoming the first female player in 53 years to accomplish the feat.
On April 6, Sun shared a lengthy reflection on social media following her victory. "I'm very happy to win the championship again at the Macao World Cup. It's a familiar venue with a familiar atmosphere. The journey was full of ups and downs, and I gave my all in every match, fighting until the very end," she wrote.
She emphasized that "victory is never the honor of one person, but the result of a team's collective effort." In her post, Sun expressed gratitude to her coaches, team members, and family for their unwavering support, and also thanked fans who cheered for her both inside and outside the arena.
Concluding her message, she wrote: "The World Cup has come to a successful close, but my passion never stops. New challenges are already on the way. I will continue to give my all and move forward bravely. See you at the next competition."
