Last Friday (March 27), parts of Western Australia experienced an eerie scene reminiscent of an apocalyptic movie. Netizens shared short videos on social media showing the sky turning blood red, with everything around shrouded in a reddish hue—a truly bizarre sight.

The person who posted the footage said, "It's super weird and terrifying outside. Everything is covered in dust, but the wind isn't even that strong." They also explained in the post that the red sky over Western Australia was caused by an approaching storm—Tropical Cyclone Narelle was drawing near, stirring up dust. The dust blown up by strong winds affected the wavelength of light, causing parts of Western Australia to turn red.

According to reports, the phenomenon occurred because strong winds lifted dust rich in iron into the atmosphere, which, combined with scattered sunlight, created a filter-like effect that weakened the wavelengths of most colors except red.
