Cathay Pacific announced today (March 12) that it will adjust its passenger fuel surcharges effective March 18, driven by the near doubling of jet fuel prices since the beginning of March due to the evolving situation in the Middle East.
Under the airline's existing mechanism, fuel surcharges for short-haul flights will increase from HK$142 to HK$290. Medium-haul flights will see the surcharge rise from HK$264 to HK$541, while long-haul flights will increase from HK$569 to HK$1,164.
Cathay Pacific added that it will regularly review fuel surcharge levels and closely monitor jet fuel price trends.
