On Dec. 31, 2025, local time, the renowned investor Warren Buffett, often referred to as the "Oracle of Omaha," officially retired from his position as Chief Executive Officer of Berkshire Hathaway.

According to reports, Buffett was born in 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. His father, Howard Buffett, was a congressman and businessman. Influenced by his family environment, Buffett demonstrated exceptional business acumen from a young age and began investing in stocks at the age of 11. By the time he graduated from university, his personal savings had reached US$9,800 (equivalent to approximately US$130,000 today). By the 1960s, Buffett had become a millionaire through successful investments and business ventures. He later acquired Berkshire Hathaway, which was then a textile manufacturing company. Through Berkshire, he executed a series of successful acquisitions and mergers, including the purchase of approximately 7% of Coca-Cola's shares in 1988. This investment remains one of Berkshire's highest-return assets to date.

According to Forbes magazine, as of May 2025, Buffett's personal net worth was approximately US$160 billion, ranking him fifth on the global list of wealthiest individuals. To this day, Buffett continues to wield significant influence in the world of business and investment. His insightful investment philosophy, exemplified by his famous adage, Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful, has deeply resonated with investors. Additionally, his annual letters to shareholders are regarded as essential reading in the industry.
