The chain Japanese Yakiniku restaurant GYUTA will close its last location in Tuen Mun on October 26, following the recent closures of its branches in Ma On Shan and Sha Tin. GYUTA announced the closure on social media, stating that due to adjustments in its operational strategy, the Tuen Mun branch will cease operations on October 26 (Sunday), and expressed gratitude for the continued support from customers.
GYUTA is a brand under the Tajimaya Group, having entered Hong Kong in 2022, with its first branch opening in Ma On Shan, followed by locations in Sha Tin and Tuen Mun. The restaurant specializes in fong tai Japanese Black beef, sourcing its meat from its own farms in Kagoshima and Miyazaki, and offering rare cuts such as "ribeye" and "beef chuck," allowing diners to enjoy the unique flavors of premium Wagyu. In addition to BBQ, the restaurant features a self-service area with a diverse selection of vegetables, salads, fried items, desserts, and beverages. However, with the Ma On Shan and Sha Tin branches having closed in July and September respectively, the closure of the Tuen Mun location marks the end of GYUTA's presence in Hong Kong.
